Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers substantial opportunities in healthcare, technology, engineering, education, finance, hospitality and skilled trades. Its culture combines historic traditions with diverse, multicultural communities, strong public institutions and an active arts and sports scene. Lifestyle varies from busy cities to quieter coastal and rural areas; public transport is widely available, although housing and living costs can be high, especially in London and the south-east. International healthcare workers normally need an eligible job offer, a Certificate of Sponsorship and the appropriate UK work visa, often the Health and Care Worker visa. Applicants should check professional registration, English-language requirements and current immigration rules before relocating. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, a National Insurance number, banking, healthcare registration and tax documentation. Blackpool offers comparatively affordable living, seaside amenities and good rail links to Preston, Manchester and Liverpool.
