The Emergency Nurse Practitioner will assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting to emergency and urgent care services, working independently within professional scope while collaborating with doctors and the wider multidisciplinary team. Applicants should be registered nurses with current NMC registration, relevant emergency or urgent-care experience, and advanced clinical assessment and decision-making skills. Non-medical prescribing, physical assessment and emergency care qualifications are highly desirable or may be expected. The successful candidate will provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based treatment, maintain accurate records, support patient flow, recognise deterioration and contribute to service improvement, education and supervision. Flexibility for shifts, nights, weekends and public holidays is normally required.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest and most respected NHS trusts in England. It provides comprehensive hospital and specialist healthcare services to the people of Leeds, West Yorkshire and patients referred from across the UK. Its hospitals include Leeds General Infirmary, St James’s University Hospital, Chapel Allerton Hospital and Leeds Children’s Hospital. The trust is a major teaching and research organisation, working closely with the University of Leeds and other education partners. It employs a large multidisciplinary workforce across emergency medicine, surgery, medicine, maternity, children’s services, diagnostics and specialist care. The organisation promotes compassionate, inclusive and patient-centred practice, while offering staff opportunities for professional development, research participation and career progression.
The United Kingdom offers strong opportunities for nurses, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals through the NHS and private providers, with particularly high demand in emergency, mental health, elderly and community care. British culture is diverse and generally informal, with English widely used; workplaces value punctuality, teamwork, safeguarding and professional accountability. Lifestyle options range from lively cities and historic towns to coastal and rural areas. Leeds provides relatively good access to transport, universities, hospitals and cultural activities, although housing costs vary. Overseas nurses usually need an eligible job offer, NMC registration, proof of English proficiency and a Health and Care Worker visa. This visa normally requires employer sponsorship and permits eligible dependants to accompany the worker. Applicants should check current UK government and NMC rules, registration requirements, fees, healthcare arrangements and relocation costs before moving.
