Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers extensive opportunities in healthcare, technology, finance, education, engineering, hospitality, and public services. NHS roles are available across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with London offering strong career prospects but higher living costs. British culture is diverse and generally values punctuality, privacy, queuing, and polite communication, while cities provide international communities, museums, music, sport, and varied food. Lifestyle options range from busy urban living to quieter coastal and rural areas, although housing and transport costs should be planned carefully. Most overseas applicants need a visa; eligible NHS professionals may apply for the Health and Care Worker visa, usually requiring an approved employer, an eligible role, and a certificate of sponsorship. Clinical psychologists must also meet UK professional registration requirements. Relocation planning should include accommodation, right-to-work checks, registration, banking, taxes, healthcare access, and local transport.
