Destination Guide

Spain's main island employment destinations are the Canary Islands, including Tenerife and Gran Canaria, and the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca. Job opportunities are strongest in tourism, hospitality, aviation, transport, logistics, retail, healthcare, construction and digital services. Spanish is important for daily life and many local roles, while English is widely used in tourism and international companies. Island living offers a relaxed lifestyle, mild weather, beaches and outdoor activities, though housing can be expensive and seasonal employment is common, particularly in the Balearics. Public transport is reasonable in major cities but a car may be useful outside urban areas. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can live and work in Spain after registering locally. Non-EU nationals generally need a work visa or residence permit arranged before employment, unless eligible for another immigration route. Check current Spanish government requirements before relocating.
