Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in banking, asset servicing, funds, fintech, technology, pharmaceuticals, professional services and multinational companies. Dublin is the main financial and employment centre, while Cork, Galway and Limerick also provide opportunities in technology, operations and life sciences. Irish workplace culture is generally collaborative, approachable and internationally minded, with English as the primary business language. Lifestyle benefits include attractive coastal and countryside destinations, a lively social scene and good access to Europe, although housing—especially in Dublin—is expensive and competitive. EU, EEA and Swiss nationals can live and work without a visa. Non-EEA citizens normally need an employment permit and immigration permission; eligibility depends on the occupation, salary and employer, with some financial-services roles potentially qualifying under specialist permit routes. Candidates should secure employment and accommodation early, budget carefully, and check current requirements with Ireland's Department of Enterprise and Immigration Service.
