Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a major regional hub for banking, finance, government services, technology, logistics, energy and tourism, with strong opportunities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture is international and professionally diverse, while Islamic traditions influence public life, dress and business etiquette. Residents enjoy modern cities, beaches, desert activities, shopping, restaurants and excellent international schools and healthcare. Summers are extremely hot; winters are mild and popular for outdoor activities. Most expatriates require employer-sponsored residence visas, typically arranged after receiving an employment offer. The employer generally supports work permits, medical checks, Emirates ID registration and sometimes relocation costs. Family members can usually be sponsored after the employee obtains residency, subject to salary and documentation requirements. Housing, schooling and healthcare can be expensive, so benefits should be reviewed carefully. A valid passport, authenticated qualifications and medical clearance may be required.
