Job Description

The Events Manager will plan, coordinate and deliver meetings, conferences, weddings and other functions for Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Golden Sands Resort in Penang. Requirements typically include a diploma or degree in hospitality, event management, business or a related field, together with several years of hotel events, catering or conference experience. The candidate should be confident managing clients, budgets, suppliers and hotel departments, while achieving revenue targets and maintaining high service standards. Strong communication, negotiation, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential. Familiarity with hotel sales systems and the Malaysian events market is advantageous. The role requires flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and varied shifts when events demand it.
