Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol and other resort destinations, especially in culinary, hotel operations, tourism and food service. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented and strongly influenced by Spanish, American and Southeast Asian traditions; English is widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living in Manila to a slower beach-oriented pace in island areas. Costs are generally lower than in many international destinations, although accommodation in major cities and resort centers can be expensive. Foreign nationals usually need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, while Filipino citizens can relocate domestically without immigration procedures. Candidates should confirm contract terms, accommodation, transport, medical coverage and service-charge policies before moving. Weather is tropical, with a dry season and a rainy or typhoon season that may affect travel and operations.
