Major job markets include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, with salaries generally higher in large cities but living costs also greater. Australian culture is diverse, informal and outdoor-oriented, with strong interest in sport, beaches, national parks and multicultural food. Lifestyle choices range from busy city living to regional and coastal communities. Skilled migrants may need an employer-sponsored visa, a skilled occupation visa or another eligible pathway; requirements vary by occupation, age, qualifications and English ability. Before relocating, check Australian immigration rules, professional recognition, tax, healthcare access and rental conditions. New arrivals should budget carefully for housing, transport and health insurance, and research Indigenous cultural protocols, workplace expectations and local community services.
