Destination Guide

Australia is a large island country with strong employment opportunities in banking, technology, healthcare, construction, education, tourism and professional services. Melbourne offers a diverse, multicultural lifestyle, excellent cafés and arts, public transport, sporting events and access to beaches and regional destinations. Workplace culture is generally informal, collaborative and focused on practical communication, inclusion and work-life balance. Living costs, particularly rent, can be high, so researching suburbs and transport is important before relocating. International applicants usually need an appropriate visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa, skilled visa, graduate visa or working holiday visa, depending on their nationality, qualifications and experience. Employers may require Australian work rights, and regulated financial roles can involve background checks and compliance screening. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, tax and banking access, healthcare eligibility and a tax file number. Australia’s climate and lifestyle vary considerably between regions.
