Destination Guide

Australia is an island continent with strong employment opportunities in banking, healthcare, technology, construction, education, hospitality, mining and professional services. Major job markets include Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, while regional areas may offer lifestyle benefits and skilled-worker opportunities. Australian workplaces are generally informal, diverse and focused on clear communication, punctuality, safety and work-life balance. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to coastal communities, national parks and relaxed regional towns. Living costs, particularly housing, are high in Melbourne and Sydney. Most overseas workers need an appropriate visa, such as a skilled, employer-sponsored, graduate or working-holiday visa; eligibility depends on occupation, qualifications, age and English ability. Before relocating, check official Department of Home Affairs requirements, arrange health insurance, budget for accommodation and understand tax, superannuation and employment conditions.
