Destination Guide

Spain’s islands, particularly Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria, offer many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, events, transport, and seasonal hospitality. Mallorca has a diverse economy and strong demand for experienced supervisors, chefs, receptionists, and service professionals, especially from spring to autumn. Island culture combines Spanish and local traditions, relaxed social life, outdoor activities, beaches, and excellent food. Lifestyle can be rewarding, although summer work is busy and accommodation costs may be high in popular areas. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can work in Spain with registration and a social security number. Non-EU applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment. Relocating usually requires arranging housing, health coverage, a bank account, and tax and residency documentation. Spanish language skills are helpful, while English is widely used in tourism.
