Company Info

Meliá Hotels International is one of Spain’s leading hotel groups and a major international hospitality company. Founded in Mallorca in 1956, the company operates hotels and resorts across Spain and numerous international markets under brands including Gran Meliá, ME by Meliá, Paradisus, Meliá, INNSiDE, and Sol by Meliá. Its portfolio covers luxury resorts, city hotels, leisure properties, and business accommodation. Meliá places strong emphasis on guest experience, sustainability, digital development, employee training, and internal career progression. The company’s presence in the Balearic and Canary Islands makes it a significant employer in tourism, offering opportunities in hotel operations, finance, commercial functions, revenue management, food and beverage, and guest services. Graduate programs can provide practical exposure to hotel performance and a pathway toward specialist or management positions.

Destination Guide

Spain’s islands, particularly the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands, offer strong employment opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, aviation, transport, retail, and travel services. Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, Tenerife, and Gran Canaria are popular, though seasonal work is common and many roles are busiest from spring through autumn. Island culture combines Spanish traditions with Mediterranean or Atlantic influences, relaxed social life, outdoor activities, and a strong connection to food and festivals. Lifestyle benefits include beaches, warm weather, and international communities, while housing can be expensive in major tourist areas. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can work with standard registration requirements. Non-EU candidates generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit before starting. Graduates should confirm accommodation, salary, season length, transport, and visa support directly with the employer before relocating.
