Destination Guide

Thailand offers opportunities in banking, technology, tourism, hospitality, education, healthcare, manufacturing, logistics, and international business, with Bangkok as the main corporate hub. Its islands, including Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao, and Krabi's surrounding islands, provide a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, water sports, wellness services, and a large expatriate community. Thai culture values respect, modesty, family, hospitality, and maintaining harmony; learning basic Thai is useful. Living costs vary: Bangkok and Phuket are relatively expensive, while smaller islands can be cheaper but may have fewer professional services and transport links. Foreign employees generally need a non-immigrant B visa and a work permit sponsored by their employer before working legally. Employers often assist with documentation, but qualifications and local compliance requirements apply. Relocating employees should arrange health insurance, housing, tax registration, and reliable transport, especially outside major towns.
