Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island and a leading Asian hub for banking, technology, healthcare, logistics and professional services. Financial-sector opportunities are especially strong in compliance, risk, wealth management, data, cybersecurity and corporate banking. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally business-oriented, with English widely used at work. Public transport is excellent, healthcare and public services are reliable, and the city offers diverse food, shopping, parks and waterfront attractions. Housing, international schools and dining can be expensive, although salaries are competitive. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience and current government criteria. Employers generally handle the application, while dependants may qualify for related passes. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, tax and healthcare matters early and check work-pass rules before relocating. Singapore’s warm, humid climate and limited space are worth considering when planning a move.
