Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected city-state with opportunities in banking, finance, technology, logistics, healthcare, consulting, and professional services. The culture is multicultural, efficient, and generally respectful, with English widely used at work and in daily life. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, safe neighborhoods, diverse food, shopping, parks, and easy access to regional travel. Housing can be expensive, especially in central areas, so many professionals live near MRT lines outside the core districts. Employment generally requires an employer-sponsored pass, most commonly an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to salary and eligibility rules that can change. Relocating workers should arrange accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking, and tax registration after arrival. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. Workplaces are professional and deadline-focused, while annual leave and benefits depend on the employer and contract.
