Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, healthcare and professional services, particularly in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham and other major cities. British culture values punctuality, privacy, polite communication and a clear work-life balance, while cities are highly multicultural. Lifestyle choices range from busy urban living to coastal and countryside communities, although London accommodation and transport can be expensive. EU, EEA and Swiss nationals generally need immigration permission to work following Brexit. Most overseas applicants require a sponsored Skilled Worker visa, and the employer and role must meet current eligibility and salary rules. Applicants should check the UK government’s latest visa guidance before accepting an offer. Relocating usually requires a passport, visa, proof of accommodation, a National Insurance number and UK bank account. Public transport is extensive, and the National Health Service provides healthcare access subject to immigration status and applicable charges.
