Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers extensive opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, healthcare, technology, finance, construction and education, particularly in London and other major cities. British culture is generally polite, diverse and multicultural, with strong respect for punctuality, personal space and professional service. Life in London is energetic and well connected, though accommodation and transport can be expensive. The country offers historic towns, lively cities, countryside and coastlines, with a cool, changeable climate. Most overseas workers need permission before starting employment. A Skilled Worker visa normally requires an eligible occupation, an approved sponsoring employer and a qualifying salary; porter and doorman positions may not meet those requirements. Some nationalities can use Youth Mobility or other temporary routes. Candidates should check current rules on GOV.UK, confirm sponsorship directly with the employer and budget for housing deposits, transport, healthcare-related charges and living costs before relocating.
