Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a Gulf federation offering strong opportunities in consulting, finance, technology, construction, logistics, tourism, and energy. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the main employment hubs, with growing demand for SAP, cloud, cybersecurity, data, and transformation professionals. The culture is modern and international while remaining influenced by Islamic traditions; modest dress, respect for local customs, and awareness of religious holidays are important. Lifestyle benefits include excellent infrastructure, international schools, diverse restaurants, beaches, shopping, and year-round sunshine, although summers are extremely hot. Most expatriates require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, with the employer usually arranging medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and permits. Candidates should confirm salary, housing support, health insurance, relocation costs, and visa terms before accepting an offer. UAE employment contracts commonly include probation and end-of-service benefits.
