Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the broadest opportunities in consulting, technology, finance, government transformation and AI. The culture is multicultural and professionally international, while local customs emphasize respect, hospitality, modesty and religious awareness. Lifestyle options range from busy city living and shopping to beaches, desert trips and a strong dining scene. Most expatriates work under an employer-sponsored residence visa; employers generally arrange work permits, medical checks and Emirates ID processing. Dependants may be sponsored subject to salary and documentation requirements. Before relocating, confirm the employment contract, health insurance, housing allowance, schooling costs and probation terms. Living expenses, particularly rent in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, can be high, although salaries are generally tax-free for individuals. Public transport is strongest in Dubai, while driving is common elsewhere.
