Destination Guide

Spain’s main island job markets are Mallorca, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, with opportunities in technology, tourism, hospitality, renewable energy, logistics, healthcare and public services. Software and consulting roles are concentrated around Palma, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Las Palmas, although many employers support hybrid or remote work. Island life offers a mild climate, beaches, outdoor activities and a relaxed social culture, while costs can be high in popular areas, especially housing. Spanish is important for daily life and many local roles; English is valuable in tourism and international companies. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work in Spain after registering locally. Non-EU applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work permit, a digital-nomad visa or another suitable residence route. Before relocating, check salary against rent, confirm remote-work and travel expectations, arrange health coverage, and verify registration, tax and residency requirements.
