Workplace culture is generally direct, collaborative and focused on work-life balance, safety and practical results. Lifestyle varies from busy city living and strong public transport to outdoor-oriented regional communities, beaches and national parks. Salaries can be attractive, although housing and living costs are high in Sydney and Melbourne. Foreign workers usually need an appropriate visa, such as an employer-sponsored Skills in Demand visa, a skilled visa or, for eligible applicants, a working-holiday visa.
