Security Officer

Job Description

The Security Officer is responsible for protecting guests, colleagues, hotel property and confidential information at Shangri-La in Hong Kong. Typical requirements include relevant hotel, security, law-enforcement or disciplined-services experience; good spoken Cantonese and English, with Mandarin often advantageous; a professional appearance; sound judgement; physical fitness; and the ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. Candidates are expected to monitor entrances and public areas, respond to incidents, conduct patrols, manage access control, prepare reports, support emergency procedures and provide courteous assistance to guests. A valid Hong Kong security personnel permit or the ability to obtain the required licence may be necessary. Strong communication, observation, teamwork and calm decision-making are important.
