Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao, and other tourism centers. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise services, and travel companies regularly hire service staff, particularly applicants with English skills and previous customer-service experience. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and community-minded, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle costs vary: Manila is busiest and generally more expensive, while provincial islands offer a slower pace and lower living costs but fewer services. Tropical weather, beaches, festivals, and varied regional food are major attractions. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa before starting employment; requirements can include immigration approval, labor authorization, and medical or documentary checks. Employees should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, transport, taxes, insurance, and contract terms with Shangri-La before relocating. Local applicants should verify current government requirements and property-specific benefits.
