Company Info

Shangri-La is a major Asian luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and headquartered in the region. It operates hotels, resorts, and related hospitality businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. The group is known for attentive service, comfortable properties, refined dining, and strong guest-focused standards. Its Hong Kong hotels serve business travellers, leisure guests, and meetings and events, providing career opportunities in front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, culinary operations, sales, finance, and management. Benefits and development opportunities vary by property and employment contract, but hotel roles commonly include staff meals, uniform provision, training, and access to internal career progression.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, retail, technology, aviation, and professional services. Hotel employees benefit from an international environment and frequent exposure to Cantonese-speaking local guests and visitors from around the world. The culture blends Chinese traditions with global influences, with excellent food, festivals, shopping, hiking, and an efficient public transport system. Life is energetic and convenient, although accommodation can be expensive and living space is often limited. Popular areas include Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories; nearby islands such as Lantau provide a quieter lifestyle. Foreign employees generally need an appropriate employment visa arranged with employer support before starting work. Applicants normally provide qualifications, experience, a valid passport, and proof that the role cannot readily be filled locally. New arrivals should budget for rent, deposits, transport, healthcare, and daily expenses.
