Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact, highly connected destination with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, finance, technology and professional services. Hotel jobs are concentrated in areas such as Tsim Sha Tsui, Central, Admiralty, Causeway Bay and the airport. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, while daily life offers excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, hiking and lively neighbourhoods. Housing is expensive and space is limited, so many employees share accommodation or live in areas such as Kowloon or the New Territories. Overseas workers generally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer normally sponsors the application and must demonstrate a genuine role and suitable salary. Applicants should prepare passports, qualifications, references and employment documents. Learn basic Cantonese etiquette, check the contract carefully, and budget for deposits, transport and healthcare during relocation.
