Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Malacca and other resort destinations. Langkawi is especially attractive for island-based hotel work, with beaches, nature parks, water activities and a relaxed lifestyle. Penang combines heritage streets, excellent food and a lively urban community, while Sabah and Sarawak offer memorable natural landscapes and cultural diversity. Malaysian society is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences; English is widely used in hotels, although Malay is the national language. Living costs vary, with resort islands sometimes costing more for imported goods and housing. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company normally manages the application. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation, transport, medical coverage and contract terms before relocating. Humid weather, monsoon seasons and occasional island transport limitations should also be considered.
