Destination Guide

Malaysia is a multicultural country with opportunities in hotels, resorts, tourism, retail, food and beverage, technology and business services. Popular island and coastal destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu and the islands of Sabah and Sarawak, while Kuala Lumpur offers the widest range of corporate and hospitality roles. Daily life is generally affordable compared with many international destinations, with excellent food, tropical weather and a mixture of Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous cultures. English is widely used in hospitality, though Malay is the national language. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company normally manages the application process. Candidates should confirm eligibility, salary, accommodation, insurance and relocation support before accepting an offer. Malaysia offers a relaxed lifestyle, but newcomers should prepare for humidity, monsoon seasons and varying transport access outside major cities.
