Company Info

Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and Australia. The group is recognised for personalised service, distinctive guest experiences and its Asian-inspired approach to hospitality. Shangri-La properties commonly serve leisure travellers, corporate guests, meetings and events, and international tourism markets. In Australia, the company has operated luxury hotel properties in major destinations, including Sydney and Cairns. Employees generally work in multicultural, service-focused environments with strong emphasis on guest satisfaction, professionalism and commercial performance. A Business Development Manager would contribute by expanding corporate and group business, maintaining strategic partnerships and supporting the hotel's market position. Benefits may include staff accommodation or travel-related discounts, professional development, meals or uniform support, depending on the property and employment conditions.

Destination Guide

Australia is a large island country with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, sales and hotel management, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Cairns and resort areas. The culture is generally informal, multicultural and outdoors-oriented, with a strong focus on work-life balance. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed coastal or tropical communities, although housing and transport costs can be high in major cities. Most overseas applicants need an appropriate work visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa, skilled visa or working holiday visa where eligible. Employers may require proven experience, English communication skills and recognised qualifications. Before relocating, check visa conditions, tax rules, healthcare arrangements and accommodation costs. Australia is geographically vast, so domestic travel between cities can be expensive. Regional hospitality roles may offer a quieter lifestyle and, in some cases, support eligibility for specified visa pathways.
