The company is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, and well-established properties in major cities and resort locations. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates prominent hotels and resorts, including properties in Manila, Cebu, and Boracay. Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities across Luzon, Cebu and the Visayas, Boracay, Palawan, and Mindanao. Resort islands provide guest-facing roles and a relaxed beach lifestyle, while Manila and Cebu offer broader career options, transport links, shopping, and urban amenities. Filipino culture is friendly, family-oriented, and strongly influenced by regional traditions, with English widely used in hotels and tourism. Living costs vary: resort destinations can be expensive for housing, whereas provincial areas are generally more affordable. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly an Alien Employment Permit and a 9(g) working visa; requirements can change, so confirmation with the employer and Philippine immigration authorities is essential. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, health insurance, local banking, and transport before relocating.
