Job Description

The Commis – Japanese Cuisine supports the Japanese kitchen team with food preparation, cooking, plating and maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation. Candidates should have basic culinary training or relevant kitchen experience, preferably with knowledge of Japanese ingredients, techniques and dishes. A genuine interest in Japanese cuisine, willingness to learn, physical stamina and the ability to work efficiently in a busy hotel environment are expected. The successful candidate should follow recipes and food-safety procedures, keep work areas clean, control preparation quality and cooperate well with chefs and colleagues. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays is normally required. Indonesian language skills are useful, while English communication is an advantage.
