Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a vibrant international city and a major centre for tourism, finance, trade, and hospitality, creating opportunities in hotels, restaurants, events, retail, aviation, and professional services. Its culture blends Chinese traditions with global influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business and tourism. Life is fast-paced, highly connected, and convenient, with excellent public transport, varied food, lively neighbourhoods, and easy access to beaches, hiking trails, and outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, especially near central districts, so many residents choose areas such as Kowloon, the New Territories, or Hong Kong Island suburbs. Foreign nationals normally require an employer-sponsored employment visa before starting work, and the role must meet immigration requirements. New arrivals need suitable accommodation, a Hong Kong Identity Card, banking arrangements, and health insurance or access to local medical services.
