Chief Accountant

Job Description

The Chief Accountant oversees the hotel’s financial operations, including accounting records, month-end closing, budgeting, forecasting, cash control, financial reporting, audits, and compliance with Malaysian regulations and Shangri-La policies. Candidates typically need a degree in accounting or finance, professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or MIA membership, and several years of hotel or hospitality finance experience. Strong knowledge of accounting systems, internal controls, taxation, Microsoft Excel, and financial analysis is expected. The successful candidate should be accurate, ethical, commercially aware, confident managing a finance team, and able to work closely with department heads and senior management in a fast-paced hotel environment.
