Its properties are known for personalised service, comfortable facilities, distinctive dining, and strong attention to guest experience. In Indonesia, Shangri-La has operated prominent city and resort hotels, including properties associated with destinations such as Jakarta and Bali. The group offers a wide range of culinary, front office, housekeeping, engineering, wellness, and management careers. Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities for chefs across Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, and other resort islands, especially in luxury hotels, restaurants, villas, and cruise-related hospitality. Bali is the most international destination, with a relaxed lifestyle, strong tourism industry, diverse food scene, and comparatively high living costs in popular areas. Indonesian culture values hospitality, respect, community, and religious diversity; modest dress and awareness of local customs are important. Employees should expect tropical weather, traffic in busy areas, and varying infrastructure between islands. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers often assist with immigration, accommodation, airport transfers, and relocation, but these details must be confirmed in writing. Candidates should verify salary, service charge, housing, medical cover, contract length, and repatriation terms before accepting an offer.
