Destination Guide

Australia is a large island country with opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism and events, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Cairns and regional resort areas. Hospitality culture is generally practical, team-oriented and informal, with strong expectations around workplace safety, punctuality and service standards. Lifestyle varies from vibrant cities and beaches to quieter regional communities; living costs can be high, especially in Sydney and Melbourne. Skilled hospitality professionals may explore employer-sponsored visas, the Temporary Skill Shortage pathway where eligible, or permanent skilled migration routes. Requirements depend on occupation lists, qualifications, English ability, age and experience. Candidates should confirm visa rules through the Australian Department of Home Affairs and arrange professional recognition, health checks, accommodation, tax registration and a local bank account before relocating.
