Events Manager

Job Description

The Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering conferences, weddings, meetings and other functions at Shangri-La. Requirements typically include several years of hotel or event-management experience, strong knowledge of event operations, excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to manage budgets, suppliers and client expectations. Experience with hospitality sales systems and a solid understanding of food and beverage service are advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to build strong client relationships, convert enquiries into confirmed business, coordinate effectively with hotel departments, solve problems calmly and ensure every event meets Shangri-La's service standards. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays is usually required.
