Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, banking, retail, technology, logistics, and professional services. The city is fast-paced, international, and highly connected, with Cantonese and English widely used and Mandarin also common. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, cultural attractions, hiking, beaches, and a lively urban lifestyle. Housing is expensive, so researching neighborhoods and employer-provided accommodation is important. Most overseas professionals need an employment visa sponsored by their employer; the General Employment Policy usually requires a confirmed job, suitable qualifications or experience, and market-level pay. Dependants may generally apply to join eligible visa holders. New arrivals should arrange a Hong Kong identity card, bank account, healthcare coverage, and tax registration where applicable. Hong Kong is not technically an island-only destination, but Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the New Territories offer very different living environments.
